ADEA to celebrate Africa’s digital leaders in Nairobi, Kenya

The Africa Digital Economy Awards (ADEA), the ‘Oscars’ of Africa’s ICT industry, is preparing for its 9th edition of the award event, at the Emara Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.

This prestigious award event recognizes and celebrates the achievements of leading and innovative Africa’s digital leaders who are shaping the future of the continent’s technology and digital economy.

The golden theme for this year’s edition, “Excellence in Digital Innovations” gives prominence to the achievements and transformative impact of technology across the continent, delving into the innovative strides being made in various sectors, from fintech and healthcare to education and agriculture among others.

With its 8th edition held in Nairobi, after 7 consecutive and successful editions in West Africa, ADEA will hold its 9th edition in Kenya’s capital city, to bring digital inclusiveness within the African continent and promote its position in the global digital sphere.

In an era marked by digital advancements, the ADEA recognizes the role of technology in various sectors in Africa. From pioneering research to transformative applications, the awards program seeks to honour the exceptional contributions of innovators to the continent.

The Group Publisher of Digital Economy Magazine Mr Akin Naphtal, said: “Africa has experienced a leapfrog in digital technology advancements, which underscore innovations, economic growth, and employment creation in many vertical sectors of the continent”

According to the World Bank, the continent’s digital economy is poised to contribute up to $180 billion to GDP by 2025 and create millions of jobs and opportunities for entrepreneurs, particularly for youth and women.

He added: “The Africa Digital Economy Awards (ADEA) celebrates and honours Africa’s digital champions, innovators, creativity, and inventions across multiple areas. Their contributions have significantly impacted the digital growth and security of the African economy.”

“There is urgency for Africa to recognize and applaud the pioneers and frontrunners in the continent’s digitalization journey, all of whom play a crucial role in advancing the digitization of every sector of our economies.” He ended.
