Hon. Sam George, Minster for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations will be the chief host at the recently rebranded 14th Digital Innovation Awards, formerly known as the Ghana Information Technology & Telecom Awards (GITTA) set to hold at the Labadi Beach Hotel on the 27th June 2025.
During a Courtesy Visit by the Publisher of the Digital Economy Magazine, Mr. Akin Naphtal to congratulate the minister on his recent appointment as Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Mr. Naphtal officially invited the minister to the 14th edition of DIA as the events chief host and special guest of honour.
During the visit, the Mr. Naphtal also presented copies of the magazine featuring the Minister on cover page. The magazine profiles the Minister’s background and highlights some of his notable activities since taking office.
Hon. Sam Goerge expressed his delight to host ICT stakeholders in Ghana and those who will be attending the esteemed awards from other parts of the continent.
The Minister emphasized the importance of digital innovation in driving Ghana’s economic growth. He noted that the government’s focus is on creating an enabling environment for tech startups and entrepreneurs to thrive, and that initiatives are being implemented to enhance digital infrastructure and promote digital literacy.
The Minister also highlighted the significance of collaboration between the government, private sector, and civil society in resetting Ghana’s digital agenda.

The 2025 edition will introduce expanded award categories that highlight the leaders and innovators driving the continent’s digital future. These categories will recognize outstanding efforts in deploying technology to transform operations, accelerate innovation, and improve lives and livelihoods across Africa.
